Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View is out today!
I’m so excited that Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View is out today! I have been working with White Paper Games on this game for over a year now and so happy I can finally share this work with you.
In this game, you instigate an investigation into a missing child & discover all the dark secrets of Dahlia View in this mysterious, story-driven observational thriller.
Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View is set in England in the 1950s. In this intense thriller, 8-year-old girl Charlotte May, daughter of Tony Morgan is reported missing from her home in Dahlia View, and Robert Conway, a retired detective, is gripped by the mystery and desperately searches for the truth behind her disappearance, as he observes his neighbours from his apartment window, he questions their behaviour and needs to find out if any of it is linked to Charlotte May’s disappearance.
As events unfold and Conway becomes more and more suspicious, launches his own investigation into the crime, uncovering new evidence, questioning his neighbours, and putting the mounting evidence together that steers the investigation onto an unpredictable path. All behind the back of his daughter, a young policewoman keen to show her worth in the male driven world of policing, who has asked her father not to get involved.
I play Catherine Conway, the daughter of Robert Conway. Catherine is a young policewoman in 1950’s England, facing challenges proving herself. When her father appears at her crime scene asking questions, she is desperate for him to not get involved and let her do the investigation properly. She loves her father, and respects him deeply, but she feels she needs to do her job and prove her worth without his interference. I loved getting into the mindset of a woman in the police in 50’s, and working with NJ was a joy as always. Intense, yet so rewarding!

I have previously worked with White Paper Games on their 1980’s thriller The Occupation. So, it was such a pleasure to be back working with the team from the very beginning of this project. The artwork in Conway is simply beautiful, bold choices that really add to the atmosphere of Dahlia View. The music and audio design are outstanding, chilling to listen to and totally immersive. It was such an honour to be amongst some incredible cast members, including Melissa Thom, Nathaniel-Jorden Apostol, Claire Vousden, Jamie Chrispin and Kayi Ushe.
This game had originally intended to record all of it’s actors in the brand new shiny studio at the headquarters of White Paper Games in Manchester. Then the pandemic swiftly put a stop to that, so the developer had the additional challenge of recording everyone remotely and marrying up the sound. Fortunately, voice actors around the world have been prepared for many years with broadcast quality studios in their own homes, so we were able to keep on track for the recording schedule. Nathaniel-Jorden Aposotol is the voice director for White Paper Games and he did an impeccable job of getting the performances out of everyone so the world is fully immersive. The developer of Conway, as well as previous releases Ether One and The Occupation, has always been passionate about truly believable characters and naturalistic performances in video games, so much so that you feel like you are immersed in a movie, as well as a game!
